Imam Hussain Shrine’s Relief Committee Expands Aid Operations for Displaced Families in Lebanon

The Relief Committee of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the continuation of its humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, in support of affected families and displaced persons, in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority and under the ongoing supervision of its representative, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaei

ABNA24 - The Relief Committee of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has announced the continuation of its humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, in support of affected families and displaced persons, in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority and under the ongoing supervision of its representative, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaei.

Head of the delegation, Sheikh Sabah Al-Janabi, said in a statement to the official website that “the Relief Committee of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues its humanitarian operations in Lebanon, supporting affected families and displaced persons, in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority and under the continuous supervision of its representative, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaei'', noting that “the assistance includes providing drinking water and utility water, in addition to distributing food baskets and ready-to-eat meals''.

He explained that “the aid also included equipping certain centers with fuel, washing machines, and clothes dryers, as well as cooking appliances and various cleaning supplies, in addition to providing diapers for children and the elderly, along with infant formula''.

He added that “the support also covered the provision of certain medications for the elderly, as well as the preparing and opening of a shelter center for displaced persons in cooperation with the Municipality of Ghazieh in Sidon Governorate, after preparing it with health and electrical infrastructure, and supplying bedding, water heaters, blankets, and other necessities to accommodate displaced individuals, some of whom are living in tents along the city’s coast''.

He continued that “the committee also supplied first aid and civil defense materials to rescue teams in the front-line areas of southern Lebanon, particularly in Nabatieh, where four centers were equipped, in addition to supporting the Sayyida Al-Zahra Medical Center in Beirut with medicines and medical supplies, and providing assistance to support the treatment of displaced persons''.

He further stated that “the relief operations covered the Mount Lebanon region, as well as Beirut and the governorates of Sidon and Nabatieh, with plans in the coming days to move toward Baalbek and Hermel in the Bekaa, and then to Tripoli in the north of the country''.

It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through the implementation of the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaei, continues its humanitarian support by providing all types of materials and logistical supplies to assist the Lebanese and Iranian peoples.
